Kentucky Health Issues Poll

As part of the Foundation’s commitment to producing timely health information for policymakers, health officials and local decision makers, we sponsor an annual telephone opinion poll of Kentucky adults called the Kentucky Health Issues Poll.

The Kentucky Health Issues Poll has been conducted annually since 2008 to assess what Kentuckians think about a variety of health topics affecting the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Health Issues Poll is funded jointly by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky and Interact for Health and conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati.

The September 2014 issue of Health Affairs, available now, features a GrantWatch article focusing on the long-standing collaboration between Interact for Health and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky in sponsoring the Kentucky Health Issues Poll (KHIP). We invite you to read the entire article here!

If there is a question or topic you would like to suggest for a future Kentucky Health Issues Poll, please contact the Foundation's Community Health Research Officer Rachelle Seger.

Data highlights from each year the Poll are available below.  Users can also access the entire survey dataset, as well as results by region or demographic group, from the Online Analysis and Statistical Information System (OASIS).

The first report from the 2013 KHIP, which deals with the statewide smoke-free issue, is now available.  Additional KHIP reports will be filed over the coming weeks and months so check back often to see the latest KHIP findings.
