About Bonnie Hackbarth
Bonnie joined the Foundation in April 2016 and manages media relations, governments affairs and the Coalition for a Smoke-Free Tomorrow at the Foundation. She also oversees the Foundation's strategic communications efforts, and oversees the website and social media program, annual report and other publications. In addition, she manages grants to several nonprofit media outlets, designed to increase media's coverage of health policy issues in Kentucky. Prior to joining the Foundation Bonnie was a senior counselor for nearly 18 years at Guthrie/Mayes Public Relations, where she served numerous clients in the health, education, technology and transportation fields. She also has served in senior communications roles in the U.S. Senate, the White House Office of Consumer Affairs and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Bonnie earned her B.A. in communications and public relations from Washington State University and has done graduate work in public administration at George Washington University.
