(LOUISVILLE, Ky - February 12, 2019) Every 10 years, the U.S. Constitution mandates that the population be counted in order to distribute federal resources and ensure proper representation based on population in the U.S. House of Representatives. The 2020 census will gather information from the largest and most diverse population to date.

The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky is offering a free webinar as part of its Health for a Change training series to help health advocates, elected officials and others better understand the importance of the 2020 Census and ways to partner with the Census Bureau to ensure Kentucky's population count is complete and accurate.

U.S. Census Bureau Partnership Specialist Michelle Elison will present on what preparations have already been made in Kentucky, key dates on the operational timeline, and provide information on the numerous jobs that will be coming to the state as a part of the 2020 Census.

The U.S. Census 2020: An update from Kentucky webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (ET), and is free, as part of the Foundation's initiative to make training programs available to Kentucky health coalitions and nonprofits. All participants must register here.

Upcoming Health for a Change training opportunities, details on the contents and presenters, as well as recordings of previous events can be found by visiting the Health for a Change page on the Foundation website here.
