(LOUISVILLE, Ky – January 9, 2017) The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky is offering a workshop to help nonprofit organizations work effectively with the media to improve news coverage of their efforts. The workshop will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky, at 101 Town and Country Lane, Suite 100, in Hazard.

The free workshop is part of the Foundation’s “Health for a Change” training series, designed to help prepare nonprofit leaders across the Commonwealth for the work on pressing health policy issues.

The Foundation’s director of communications, Bonnie J. Hackbarth, will facilitate the workshop, which will focus on news releases and media interviews. Hackbarth has more than 30 years of media relations experience in the federal government and agency public relations. She has been with the Foundation since April 2016.
